Auditory input

Sound fed to the system. Some users seek it, some need building tolerance to it. The noisy toy supplies it on demand.

Cause and effect

Shake and it rattles, press and it sounds. The body learns it can make the world respond. For users whose actions have not always had consequences, this matters.

Communication

Before words, the wanting to be heard. Sound draws attention, invites response, opens the door language walks through later.

Auditory tracking

Sound that moves draws the ear and the eye after it. The toy that sounds as it moves teaches the senses to follow.

For users with visual impairment

Sound does not need sight. The toy that makes noise is the toy that works when the eyes do not.

Play, not quiet

The world has a large stake in children being quiet. We understand why. But quiet is not the goal here. The noisy toy is permission to be loud, to take up sonic space, to be heard. Some users have been hushed their whole lives. Here they are not.
