What the space needed
We were tasked with creating a space that students could use to really get away from the outside world. To do this we created custom podiums to fit the space, maximising the rooms features. This was combined with interactive features that work in sync to make the room as immersive as possible. With plenty of beanbags and resonance seating this room became the perfect place to escape the chaos that college can be.
Features and equipment
- Bubble wall - bright, controllable colours with adjustable air flow: full power for a stimulating effect, turned down for a calmer feel.
- Electro Wobble Garden - There is nothing quite like it, combining the best of a tactile panel with the freedom of response of a digital panel. With each flick of a spring delivering instant and gorgeous responses.
- Bubble Column - The same bubbling effects of the Bubble Wall with the added benefit that you can look from all angles.
- Chromatheme Projector - The Chromatheme Projector has revolutionised projection in a sensory room. With 10 themes each with a beautiful video for every colour the projection changes with the other items in the room, creating a truly immersive experience.
- Resonance Platform - The resonance platform makes sound physical, this is a wonderful sensory experience and well suited to a sensory room.
- Pixels Panel - Our Pixels panel is one of a kind, with 3 different creative modes that also go back to a calming loop after use. This is perfect to engage with but then to become a calming feature
- Shuddabar - A padded vibrating panel, a lovely calming presence.
- Padding - soft wall padding around the interactive panels, and a comfortable spot to lie down.
The work we did
After an initial visit, we put together a design based on the space and the equipment the team wanted to see, refining it over a few iterations before settling on the final design. You can check out the 3D design in the images above.
