Projectors in the Sensory Room – a new development

Ever since the birth of the sensory room, the projector has been at the heart of the installation. In many ways, it sets the mood of the room. Over the years, the other components of the room have been improved and developed, particularly in how the equipment is controlled. But the projector has remained much as it was in the 1970's. While it is true that there is a wide choice of wheels, the kerfuffle of changing them, often involving climbing on a chair to reach a shelf, is such that changes don't happen very often.

The Chromatheme is a complete break from the past. The images, there are 100 of them, divided into ten categories or themes, can be changed without leaving your bean bag. They are very varied; many are mesmeric, some are even humorous, and all are beautiful. For each clip, there are ten to a category; each lasts about 8 seconds and then repeats. It is simplicity itself to change to another clip within the category or to switch categories by using the hand-held controller.

The ten categories are: 1. Nature Bliss: Serene natural landscapes. 2. Transportation: Energetic scenes. 3. Abstract Art: Hypnotic patterns and colors. 4. Underwater Wonders: Enchanting marine life. 5. Cultural Wonders: Iconic landmarks and cultural scenes. 6. Animal Kingdom: Fascinating animals in their habitats. 6. Seasonal Splendor: Beautiful scenes from all four seasons. 6. Ink Explosion: Clouds aswirl. 9. Construction: Scenes of activity. 10. Resonance: Beautiful Harmonics.

All except the last are silent, which makes the Huub a natural pairing with the Chromatheme.

In the sensory room, it works well with the Chromatheme projector, but it will plug straight into almost all modern TVs, Monitors, projectors, and Whiteboards. The Chromatheme is the new gold standard for projectors. It is, to the traditional projector, what the smartphone is to the brick. In the future, all sensory rooms will be built around it.
