Weighted Lap Pads provide the deep pressure users require in order to feel grounded. These pads enable users to sit better for longer periods and pay closer attention for improved learning. Weighted lap pads are recommended for use at home, in class and during road trips. These vinyl-covered pads clean easily with spray-and-wipe cleansers and can be disinfected with spray-on disinfectant. Do not stand or sit on lap pads as a leak might occur.

Easy Care: These vinyl-covered pads can be cleaned with a mild, non-chlorinated detergent and can be disinfected with a mild, non-chloride-containing disinfectant. Although the gel is not toxic, medical assistance must be invoked if the gel is taken through the mouth. If the product is cracked or damaged, it must be discarded. Caution: This product must always be used under the direct supervision of a care giver.  - Remove all buckles, keys, and other sharp objects before using so as not to damage product.  

We strongly recommend that this product not be used with individuals cognitively under age 5.  

Although the gel is non-toxic the item should not be chewed or ingested. 

Weighted products provide proprioceptive input that helps establish increased body awareness, improves attention span and concentration, and has calming benefits. Children who do not have sensory problems may also benefit from weighted products by helping calm tantrums, aid with attention span, and help relieve restless legs. Although there is no specific formula for determining the weight, the common formula to use is 10% of the childs weight plus 1 pound. After the weight is selected, a therapist should observe the child to determine whether adjustments are needed.
